Facts About Depression:

Although there are different types of depression, they do not give a true indication of what is really going on in the life of an individual.

Types of depression:

Reactive - in response to events

Endogenous - with no apparent outward cause, possibly due to a  chemical imbalance.

Manic - characterized by extreme highs and lows, the opposite of depression being mania.

Post Natal - following delivery, hormones are in a state of flux - added to the stress of caring for an infant and the sometimes drastic change in lifestyle can equate to depression.
